The Ultimate Performance Carpal Tunnel Wrist Brace holds the wrist in a neutral position, providing support and pain relief for carpal tunnel syndrome, stiff, weak or aching wrists. It is made from soft neoprene material which provides therapeutic heat and compression, helping to promote healing with added comfort.
The rigid aluminium stay built into the brace supports the wrist in a neutral position. In addition, adjustable straps allow for a more personalised fit allowing you to adjust compression to suit. It is a reversible design, therefore perfect for either left or right hand. Level 2 wrist support.
What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the palm of the hand, becomes compressed or squeezed at the wrist. Symptoms include numbness, tingling, weakness, and pain in the hand and fingers.
What injuries is the Carpal tunnel wrist brace suitable for?
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Wrist sprains
- Stiff or weak wrists
In particular, any wrist injury where you need a high level of support and prevent movement in the joint whilst healing.
How does it work?
The rigid aluminium stay supports the wrist in a neutral position whilst the adjustable straps allow for a more personalised fit and required compression to the wrist.
How does a Carpal tunnel wrist brace help?
Wearing a carpal Tunnel wrist brace/splint helps relief symptoms and aids healing in the following ways:
Immobilises the wrist
Wearing a carpal tunnel wrist splint immobilizes the wrist joint, helping to maintain it in a straight or slightly extended position. As a result, this reduces pressure on the median nerve. This is because it limits the amount of bending and flexing that occurs during daily activities.
Rest
By restricting movement, the carpal tunnel wrist splint allows your wrist and hand to rest. Rest is essential for reducing inflammation and giving the median nerve an opportunity to recover.
Night-time use
Your doctor may recommended a wrist brace to be worn at night during sleep when treating carpal tunnel syndrome. This is because symptoms are often worse from positioning of the hand during rest.
Carpal tunnel wrist brace relieves symptoms
The splint can alleviate symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and pain by preventing the compression of the median nerve. This improves overall comfort and quality of life for patients with Carpal tunnel syndrome.
Helps the healing process
By providing support and reducing stress on the median nerve, a wrist splint may contribute to the healing process and prevent further damage to the affected area.
It's important to note that while wrist splints can be helpful in managing symptoms, they are not a cure for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on their own. Always consult with a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
