The Reverence SL is a super-light, stripped back version of the Reverence.

This is an athlete led product that builds on the success of the original Reverence but offers a narrower race-fit in a super lightweight, lower to the ground package.

We wanted to make a shoe that has all the characteristics of a racing shoe, but maintains the excellent durability that our shoes are recognised for.

The shoe maintains some of the main features of the Reverence, such as the MATRYX® micro upper and the deep lugged Michelin® OCX3 outsole.

The fit uses a new “True-Fit Race” last. This is a more precise fitting version of our True-Fit last, that still allows space for the big toe to splay into a natural position whilst providing a more agile feel.

Michelin® OCX3 Fiberlite Outsole - The Michelin® outsole maintains some of the same DNA of the original Reverence, but in a lighter, stripped back package. We have used the same super-sticky OCX3 compound for optimum traction on wet rock, and the 7mm lugs bite into soft and loose terrain.

The outsole of the Reverence SL has been stripped back to save more weight, the outsole base has been reduced to a thickness of 0.9mm and utilises Michelin®’s Fiberlite technology. This involves a thin woven textile on the outsole base that allows the same strength of a thicker outsole base and filters out sharp rocks from underfoot.

The platform is narrower through the heel and midfoot regions and slightly narrower in the forefoot to improve agility on technical terrain, whilst still providing a stable and comfortable platform.

We have also adjusted the individual lug modules to optimise weight and prevent the lugs from clogging with mud, whilst still allowing for sufficient surface area to provide grip on wet rock.

Michelin® EVA Midsole - as featured on the Freedom Ultra, we have worked with Michelin® and used their high rebound supercritical EVA foam. This provides a fast and efficient feel, that also improves traction by allowing the midsole to mould around hard surfaces such as rocks and tree routes to increase the surface area. The density of the midsole has been carefully crafted to find the sweet spot of softness that ensures comfort but is also stable enough for use on technical terrain.

Sewn-in Sock liner - this reduces the weight and allows quicker drainage when wet. It also improves ground feel and proprioception, allowing your foot to feel sensations from the ground beneath so you can adjust your movements better through different terrains.

MATRYX® Micro - Moving on to the upper, we have chosen to use the same fabric as the original Reverence. This MATRYX® micro fabric uses coated yarns to prevent the absorption of water, this keeps the weight of the shoe to a minimum even in wet conditions. This along with the use of Kevlar fibres maximises the strength and durability of the upper, so that you can rely on it for many races and training miles.

Notched Laces - As seen in the Freedom Ultra, we have used notched laces for this shoe. This provides a secure lockdown and reliable tightening.

Gusseted Tongue - The tongue features a die cut, lightweight non-absorbent fabric and vented zones to minimise water uptake. This works in conjunction with thin elastane gusseting to provide a secure yet comfortable lockdown in the midfoot, that also prevents the tongue from slipping to one side.

Ergonomic heel-collar padding - the shoe features a minimal heel counter and collar padding. This provides a secure fit to keep the heel in place even in the most technical of terrains, whilst being minimal enough to reduce the uptake of water to facilitate a natural range of motion in the ankle.
